Terrapin House is seeking caring, dependable Direct Support Staff to provide one-on-one support to a young adult with autism in the Quakertown area.
This position focuses on helping an individual live a meaningful life at home and in the community while providing consistency, structure, and positive support.
Available Shifts
Day Shifts
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekdays and weekends available
Evening Shifts
- 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Weekdays and weekends available
Overnight Shift
- 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Weekdays and weekends available
Full-Time and Part-Time positions available
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support in the home and community
- Assist with daily living skills and personal growth
- Encourage community participation and meaningful activities
- Promote safety, independence, and quality of life
- Support established routines and schedules
- Follow individualized support plans
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with family and team members
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, behavioral health needs, or related human service experience
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in:
- Psychology
- Education
- Special Education
- Counseling
- Social Work
- Mental Health
- Or a related field
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
Candidates with extensive experience supporting individuals with autism may be considered if they are willing to obtain NADD certification.
