The City of Virginia Beach is recruiting for a Part-time Direct Support Professional II to work in our residential facilities assisting the Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled population.
The Direct Support Professional II will :
Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to 12 assigned participants.
Assist with meal preparation and activities of daily living.
Complete all required documentation to show progress or regression towards the participant's outcomes, activities and essential supports
Complete all required billing processes to ensure the program accurately and ethically bills for services provided.
Administer medications as prescribed utilizing the 5 Rights of administration.
Assist with and/or complete hygiene tasks to include, but are not limited to, showering, bathing, using the restroom, changing protective undergarments, brushing teeth, etc.
Assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments.
Follow all health and safety protocols as outlined by clinical and medical professionals.
Check or verify medications delivered for accuracy and report inaccuracies immediately to the pharmacy and /or the Case Coordinator.
Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities.
Transport participants with the use of a city vehicle and/or personal vehicle (dependent on program and city vehicle availability).
Uphold all confidentiality, Human Rights, and Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) Rights at all times.
Manage behavioral and crisis situations utilizing Therapeutic Options Techniques.
