    Direct Support Professional

    Work Hours: Monday - Friday  8AM to 6PM
    Compensation:
    $19.50 per hour
    Primary Location: San Diego-East County
    Caregivers! Home Health Aides! Direct Care Workers! DSP! Come join us today!

    Your Role in Tailored Day Services

    Join a program where every day looks a little different! Our Tailored Day Services (TDS) program supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in creating meaningful, self-directed days based on their unique interests, goals, hopes, and dreams. As a Community Facilitator, you’ll work 1:1 with a client and help them plan their day, their way. That could mean exploring the community, building life skills, pursuing personal goals, trying new activities, or simply spending time doing what is most meaningful to them. This role is all about encouraging independence, choice, confidence, and connection while helping each client create a day that reflects who they are and what they want out of life.

    Job Specific Essential Duties

    1. Train, support, and monitor clients while in the community and vocational settings.
    2. Participate in the development of a circle of support, to build relationships with family, friends, neighbors, and other community.
    3. Develop individualized adaptive support materials as needed.
    4. Develop and expand clients’ participation in integrated employment activities.
    5. Assist with development and implementation of clients’ annual plan, goals, and objectives 
    6. Participate in clients’ annual Individualized Program Plan (IPP) meeting 
    7. Provide same day shift coverage as requested by supervisor.

    Minimum Experience and Qualifications

    • Education: High School Diploma/GED
    • Experience: 1 year working in social services, education, or with the developmentally disabled population preferred
    • Driving: 3 years driving experience; own vehicle for transportation 
    • ASL is a plus, but not required.
