About the Role:Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. This weekend overnight position (Friday–Sunday, 8PM–8AM) is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities:- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities during overnight shifts
- Assist residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility
- Monitor and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals throughout the shift
- Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
- Respond to behavioral or medical situations calmly and appropriately, following established protocols
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential environment
- Communicate effectively with team members during shift transitions and handoffs
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
- Ability to work overnight weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday, 8PM–8AM)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state compliance requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during overnight hours
