Direct Support Professional - ChildcareJoin The Camphill School's residential program supporting children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a warm, home-like environment. This full-time position provides direct care, life skills instruction, personal care assistance, therapeutic support, and recreational activities to help students achieve greater independence and well-being.The mission of The Camphill School is to create wholeness for children and youth with developmental disabilities through education, extended family living, and therapy so that they may be better understood, they may more fully unfold their potential, and they may meaningfully participate in life. ResponsibilitiesSupport students with daily living skills, social development, communication, hygiene, feeding, and self-care.Provide personal care assistance, including dressing, bathing, and toileting.Assist with therapeutic and educational activities, outings, and cultural events.Supervise students during residential hours; mornings, afternoons and occasional weekend hours.Participate in household tasks, including meal preparation and light cleaning.Report incidents, illnesses, or concerns to supervisors.Assist with crisis intervention and behavior support as needed.Attend required training, including CPR and crisis intervention.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Must be At least 18 years old.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.Ability to participate in physical activities, assist with personal care, and support students in a variety of settings.Willingness to learn and apply Curative Education principles.We offer:Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications.Health, dental, and vision insurance after 60 days, with Camphill sharing the costPaid time off (PTO)Life Insurance of $20,000 with option to purchase additional403B Retirement savings plan, with company matching of up to $1,000Paid training, including CPR and crisis intervention certification.Professional development opportunities.Supportive team-oriented work environment.Work Schedule: We are looking for individuals available to work the following schedule; Monday - Fridays 7a.m to 9:00 a.m., and then afternoons 4:00 to 8:00 pm. and some weekend hours as needed.
