Join a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit in Arizona as a DIRECT HIRE Registered Nurse. This 12-bed ICU provides care for critically ill patients across a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2. The unit offers 24/7 Respiratory Therapist coverage, dedicated support staff, and an Administrative Shift Coordinator in-house around the clock.

What to Expect

• 12-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Modified self-scheduling with block scheduling accommodated when possible
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Respiratory Therapist in the unit 24/7
• Patient Care Technician and Health Unit Secretary support
• Administrative Shift Coordinator in-house 24/7
• May float to the Emergency Department or Med-Surg if experienced
• Common patient populations include pneumonia, ventilated patients, post-cath patients, EVAR, surgical patients, ARDS, DKA, CVA after tPA, atrial fibrillation with RVR, sepsis, and renal failure
• Experience with basic ICU equipment required
• Common ICU procedures and treatments include arterial lines, hypothermia protocols, and IABP support
• Typically 1–2 ventilated patients in the unit at any given time

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience with basic ICU equipment required

Compensation & Incentives

• Sign-on bonus payable after 90 days
• Sign-on bonus payable after 12 months
• Sign-on bonuses do not require repayment if the employee leaves the position
• Relocation assistance may be available; if provided, a one-year employment commitment is required

Schedule Details

• Modified self-scheduling
• Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No listed holiday requirement
• No on-call requirement
• Orientation is held every Monday
• ASAP start
