Relief Direct Care Counselors

Division: Shelter and Housing Division

Part-Time

Pay: $17.50 Per Hour

Locations/Shifts Available:

  • Greenfield: Day shift
  • Pittsfield: All shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

Position Summary:

Be part of a team that creates a warm, welcoming place for parents and children in need. As a Shelter Counselor, you'll play a key role in helping families feel safe and supported as they work towards finding permanent housing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Help create a cozy, home-like environment where everyone feels cared for.
  • Support families by assisting with everyday tasks, teaching life skills, and offering guidance.
  • Write simple notes to track the progress of each family.
  • Attend team meetings to share ideas and learn from others.
  • Make sure the shelter's rules are followed to keep everyone safe and on track.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply!
  • Experience working with people living on a low income, or who are affected by mental health issues and/or addiction.
  • Proficiency across the following skills: verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and use of computer and technology.
