    Description

    Overview:

    Accountable for 24hr, day to day operations in the department of Care Centers which includes effective management of clinical systems, human resources, financial management, and environmental management. Promotes collaborative practice with other departments, physicians, schools of nursing, and exhibits the ability to work with others to find solutions to difficult human, technical, or administrative problems. Must be able to adjust to and lead others through a rapidly changing environment.
     

    Responsibilities:
    • Uses resources to address ethical concerns.
    • Recognizes, develops, and implements Performance Improvement initiatives to improve clinical outcomes.
    • Responsible for employee hiring/recruitment and retention process in collaboration with Human Resources.
    • Ensures application of counseling/disciplinary process are consistent.
    • Oversees the performance appraisal process.
    • Responsible for scheduling and staffing process.
    • Effectively develops and mentors staff.
    • Ensures accuracy of payroll and Time and Attendance data.
    • Negotiates and collaborates capital, FTE, and operational budgets.
    • Manages department(s) within planned budget.
    • Analyzes & justifies budget variances.
    • Initiates actions to correct budget variances.
    • Ensures department(s) meet compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Addresses medical – legal issues and initiates risk reduction strategies.
    • Assesses technology and implications for patient care.
    • Implements and uses clinical management information systems.
    • Demonstrates leadership skills and serves as a role model to staff.
    • Participates in strategic planning and other projects.
    • Participates in organization work teams and task forces.
    • Manages projects for Nursing Administration or HH as assigned.
    • Demonstrates effective and professional communication skills.
    • Responsible for quality patient care and safety.
    Qualifications:
    • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing required
    • BSN preferred
    • RN with BS in health or business management acceptable
    • Current Registered Nurse license.
    • BLS Certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
    • Extensive RN experience in which leadership has been exhibited required.
    • Management experience desirable.
