    Responsibilities The Coastal Harbor Health System is seeking Director of Education for our Inpatient facility which offers year around schooling for adolosent children. Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 114-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50 bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. We offer compassionate patient care to those who need it the most, serving not only local patients, but also those located across the country. Our hospitals are conveniently located in beautiful, historic Savannah, GA in a quiet setting that provides unparalleled anonymity and privacy, enabling patients to concentrate on treatment. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Oversee all educational programming through supervision of educational staff in the planning of curriculum, classroom schedule and preparation of lessons/plans, considering regulatory requirements, physical, emotional, and education levels of development. Maintain an effective and efficient staff through appropriate supervision in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; maintaining quality assurance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assist with overall facility staff training and development using a variety of acceptable methods, skills, and techniques, and conducts conferences and meetings as required. Ensure compliance with governmental, organizational, and contracting authority's regulations, policies and procedures, and operating requirements. Perform various administrative tasks including maintaining adequate office and classroom supply inventory, controlling and balancing petty cash, and assisting in the preparation of and managing the facility budget as required. Develop and implement individualized academic programs by performing formal and informal assessments of academic achievement, social-emotional development, and vocational skills according to governmental and organizational guidelines. Prepares materials, individualized lesson plans, and activities according to assessment goals. Demonstrate knowledge of effective instructional techniques by using a wide variety of materials and mediums of delivery and avoiding overuse of any one medium. At least three years of teaching or providing related services to special education students. At least three years in an administrative or supervisory role in an educational environment.
