    Position: Dining Services Lead Catering

    Department: Finance & Administrative Services

    Type of Position: Part-time Regular

    Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

    Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, 25 hours per week

    Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

    Starting Salary Range:  $16.68-$21.23 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

    Position Summary: The Dining Services Lead, Catering supports JCCC mission by coordinating and executing full-service catering operations, ensuring exceptional event execution from setup to breakdown. This role balances hands-on food presentation and safety compliance with leadership responsibilities, including training staff, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment. Acting as the primary point of contact on-site, the Catering Team Lead upholds rigorous health and safety standards while delivering high-quality customer service to ensure seamless event experiences. This position reports to Hospitality Manager.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Requires a High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of related experience.
    • Required Certifications: Serve Safe - Alcohol and Serve Safe -Food Handling.

    Position details include but are not limited to:

    • Event Setup & Food Presentation: Act as lead for event set-up and food presentation, preparation, and display. 
    • Team Leadership & Training: Train and guide team members on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation, and customer service. 
    • Inventory & Equipment Management: Order inventory and maintain all products needed to complete catering orders. Maintain all equipment and catering display supplies and report any needed repairs or replacements to leadership. Ensure quality products are ordered in the quantities stipulated and are properly labeled and include a list of major ingredients or allergens.
    • Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Monitor storage, production, delivery, and service to ensure compliance with all health codes and regulations. Maintain clean and sanitary working conditions and ensure the daily cleaning schedule is executed. Load and unload event equipment into catering vehicles and follow all safety procedures. 
    • Customer Service: Ensure customers receive friendly, courteous service at all times. 
    • Other duties as assigned: Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be updated at any time at the discretion of management.
