Dining Room Service Manager - Senior Living | Location: Cedar Falls, IA 50613
Compensation: $60,000 annually + 5% bonus eligibility | Full-Time
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday
Job Summary
We are seeking a Dining Room Service Manager to help deliver exceptional dining experiences through fresh ingredients, scratch-made cuisine, and thoughtful hospitality. You'll lead daily operations, develop team members, maintain quality and compliance standards, and support a culture of service excellence. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about food, people, and creating meaningful experiences through REAL food.
What You'll Do
- Oversee meal production and service to ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure dietary needs, preferences, and special diets are met and communicated to staff.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and resolve concerns.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage food storage, inventory, and ordering within budget guidelines.
- Monitor food costs, waste, and portion control for efficiency.
- Hire, train, schedule, and lead food service staff.
- Conduct inspections and maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Collaborate with other departments to support care plans and events.
- Drive continuous improvement and participate in meetings and initiatives.
- Other duties as directed.
What You Will Bring
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of dietary standards, special diets, and food safety principles.
- Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate food service staff.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk; ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
- State/County Food Handler Certification - if required.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check (State and Federal) and a drug screen.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- This position works in a fast-paced food service environment with regular exposure to commercial kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, moderate noise levels, heat, steam, and temperature fluctuations. The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform movements such as bending, reaching, stooping, and twisting.
