    Position Summary

    Prepare alcoholic beverages, take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons of club.

    Start Date & Training

    Anticipated start date and training for our newly renovated restaurant will begin in early November.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchases of alcohol.
    • Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
    • Serve snacks and food items to customers as required or applicable.
    • Take beverage orders from serving staff as well as from patrons.
    • Limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following procedures for intoxicated persons including but not limited to calling a taxi, refraining from serving more, etc
    • Control and monitor cash bank.
    • Coordinate and control beverage inventory with Bar and Beverage Manager.
    • Perform cleaning duties.
    • Take orders; enter orders into point of sale system for transmittal to kitchen staff.
    • Check with customers regularly to ensure they are enjoying their meal and take any necessary corrective action to improve their visit.
    • Serve food and beverage to members, prepare or serve specialty dishes and beverages as required.
    • Prepare checks itemizing the total meal costs including taxes and beverages.
    • Remove dishes including glasses, plates, silverware, and barware from bar and place them in kitchen and bar for cleaning.
    • Maintain kitchen and dining work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
    • Present menus to members and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Inform customers of daily specials as applicable.
    • Support country club as needed doing training, serving, and other duties as assigned
    • Special projects as assigned by management.

    Education & Experience

    High-school graduate or GED equivalent required; vocational school preferred. May be required to obtain licensing in order to serve alcohol. Valid Arizona Food Handler's card. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in the service industry required. Bartending experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of liquor, wine and other beverages as well as menu items is required.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Good customer contact skills. Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person and by telephone. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as memorization skills in retaining information. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while taking orders, using computers for entering and processing orders, have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). Must be able to lift or move kegs weighing up to 160 pounds - maintaining cooler and bar stock requires bending as well as carrying and/or lifting materials. Performing movements which require considerable movement of arms, legs and moving entire body such as lifting, balancing, walking, stopping, and handling of materials. Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature controlled work area. Must be able to see and work with customers and work in open area with other employees. Employee will come in contact with alcohol and cleaning solvents as necessary.
