Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Roland DGA is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth of the DIMENSE DA-640, our dimensional surface printing solution for the wallcoverings market. This highly visible role is responsible for both driving direct sales opportunities and establishing a scalable channel strategy through the recruitment, development, and management of reseller and distribution partners. The successful candidate will serve as a market builder, helping define the products route to market, expand industry presence, and create new revenue opportunities. With substantial autonomy and influence, this position offers the opportunity to build a business segment from the ground up and make a lasting impact on Roland DGAs future growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Direct Business Development

  • Independently identify, research, and cultivate new end-user customers for the DA-640 across target verticals (commercial wallcoverings, interior design, hospitality, print service providers, and related décor applications).
  • Research industries and market segments to uncover new applications and buyer personas for dimensional/embossed print technology.
  • Use sales intelligence and prospecting tools - including LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo.io - to build targeted account lists and identify geographic and vertical "clusters" of prospects with similar applications, purchasing patterns, or business profiles.
  • Manage a full-cycle outbound prospecting motion: research, outreach, qualification, demonstration coordination, and handoff/close.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecast data in the CRM.

Channel Development & Management

  • Build and manage a reseller/distribution channel for the DA-640 from the ground up, in coordination with Roland DGA sales leadership.
  • Identify and recruit channel partners within the existing Roland DG dealer network who have (or can build) a wallcoverings-focused book of business.
  • Identify and recruit partners outside the traditional Roland DG channel, with priority focus on dealers and integrators currently selling competitive dimensional or wallcovering-oriented equipment - including Durst, HP Latex, and Canon Colorado - particularly those with an established wallpaper/wallcoverings customer base.
  • Develop partner onboarding, training, and enablement processes; act as the primary point of contact for channel partners selling the DA-640.
  • Manage ongoing partner relationships, set expectations and targets, and resolve channel conflict between direct and partner-sourced opportunities.
  • Track and report on channel pipeline and performance against goals.
  • Work with resellers to demonstrate and promote the targeted Roland DG/DG Dimense product offering and achieve sales objectives as defined by the VP of BD.
  • Develop comprehensive sales, marketing and support plans and implement them on an as-needed basis for faltering dealers.
  • Actively participate with the Market Development team in planning & executing targeted ABM campaign activity.
  • Manage channel partner performance by establishing sales expectations, monitoring results, developing high-potential partners, and recruiting or exiting dealers as necessary to support business objectives.

Strategic / Long-Term Market Development

  • Research and map the wallcoverings and wallpaper brand landscape as part of Roland DGA's long-term strategy to place the DA-640 with established wallpaper brands and distributors.
  • Surface and cultivate relationships with individuals and companies who have wallcoverings industry backgrounds, relationships, or domain expertise - whether as future hires, partners, or channel contacts.
  • Provide market feedback (competitive intelligence, pricing, application trends) to product and marketing teams to inform go-to-market strategy.
  • Work to improve professional abilities and knowledge in sales, our markets, products and the competitive landscape.

Sales Operations

  • Achieve a minimum of 100% assigned annual quota.
  • Travel outside of the territory in support of company marketing efforts at major trade shows and industry events.
  • Maintain positive relations through field visits, sales and extensive product training and quarterly reviews.
  • Analyze and control expenditure within the territory.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and complete records of all customer contact interactions, utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application and other company support systems.
  • Interact and maintain good relationships with all other Roland DGA departments and personnel.
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Other duties as directed by Supervisor

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Performance is measured by percentage attainment of assigned revenue quota as outlined in Sales Compensation Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, outside sales, or channel/partner sales, ideally in wide-format printing, signage, graphics, wallcoverings, or a related capital equipment industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently source and close new businesses, not just work inbound or assigned leads.
  • Hands-on proficiency with prospecting and sales intelligence tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience developing or managing a reseller, dealer, or distribution channel is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the wide-format print, signage, or wallcoverings/commercial decoration industry - and existing relationships within it - is a significant plus.
  • Background in, or connections within the wallpaper/wallcoverings industry specifically is a strong differentiator for this role.
  • Working knowledge of the competitive landscape (Durst, HP Latex, Canon Colorado, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong CRM discipline and comfort with pipeline-based, metrics-driven selling.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a role and channel that is still being built.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, trade shows, and partner meetings (travel 50%).
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, problem solving and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated & goal-oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional business relationships
  • Detail-oriented
  • High energy & Commitment: the ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing company
  • Must have a valid driver's license
