EFI VUTEk / Wide Format Digital Press Operator
Are you an experienced press operator with a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for color? We are looking for a dedicated EFI VUTEk / Wide Format Digital Press Operator to join our fast-paced production team in the Henderson area and help deliver high-quality grand-format print solutions.
Position Overview
Location: Henderson, NV area
Pay Rate: Starting at $20/hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: [1st Shift / 2nd Shift / Overtime as required]
Key Responsibilities
Press Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate EFI VUTEk wide-format hybrid, flatbed, or roll-to-roll printers.
File Preparation & RIP: Process print queues using RIP software such as Fiery XF, Caldera, or Onyx, managing standard vector and raster formats (PDF, TIFF, EPS).
Material & Inventory Handling: Load and align heavy substrates (vinyl, canvas, rigid boards, fabrics) while tracking media stock, UV lamps, and ink levels.
Color & Quality Control: Perform ICC profiling, calibrate printheads, and conduct continuous visual inspections to prevent banding, alignment errors, and color shifts.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Execute daily, weekly, and monthly printer upkeep, printhead cleaning, and coordinate with vendor technicians for complex repairs.
Collaboration: Work closely with prepress, finishing, and shipping teams to ensure tight production deadlines are met.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience operating EFI VUTEk grand-format digital printing equipment.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of UV-curing technologies, color density, and profile calibration.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift/move materials up to 50 lbs.
Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work designated shifts and overtime as production demands.
