JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision at Texas Southern University Online | Digital Learning Innovation & Professional Education, the Digital Learning Facilitator serves as a support conduit for students, staff, and faculty, facilitating the effective use of instructional technologies and emerging digital tools, including Ai in teaching, learning, and career preparation. The facilitator creates and provides hands-on training, support, and consultation to enhance student engagement, professional development, and academic success.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

This position supports the University's student success and digital transformation initiatives by assisting with the responsible implementation and adoption of learning technologies, including artificial intelligence (Ai) tools. The Digital Learning Facilitator works closely with students, staff, and faculty to promote innovative learning practices, improve digital literacy, and ensure successful integration, thereby directly contributing to student engagement, retention, and persistence.

Essential Duties Summary

  • Provides frontline student support for learning technologies, including an understanding of the ethical and responsible use of Ai.
  • Design, deliver, and train on ethical Ai-enabled approaches that support everyday workflows.
  • Develop and maintain practical Ai learning resources, playbooks, and knowledge-based resources that translate complex concepts into actionable business practices.
  • Facilitate live workshops and executive sessions focused on Ai adoption, workflow, transformation, and responsible Ai use.
  • Design multi-modal learning experiences including self-paced resources, live instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises.
  • Gather participant feedback and program metrics to continuously improve curriculum, engagement, and adoption outcomes.
  • Partner and collaborate with students, staff, and instructors to identify learning gaps and design targeted Ai enablement strategies.
  • Conducts individual consultations and group training sessions with students, staff, and faculty on Ai and emerging digital tools.
  • Creates and maintains training materials, tutorials, user guides, and knowledge-based resources.
  • Design initiatives and digital learning projects that directly impact student preparation and professional development.
  • Assists with the testing, evaluation, and implementation of new educational technologies.
  • Maintains records of training activities, consultations, technology usage, and support requests
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, learning science, information technology, or a related field, with relevant professional experience

Ability to:

  • Design and deliver multi-modal learning experiences, including self-paced resources, live instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises
  • Provide frontline, responsive support to students, staff, and faculty on learning technologies and Ai tools
  • Stay current on emerging educational technology and Ai trends and proactively apply new knowledge to practice
  • Work independently under general supervision while exercising sound judgment
  • Promote and model ethical, responsible, and inclusive use of Ai and digital tools
  • Ability to learn and support learning management systems and other instructional technologies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.

Work Experience

Required:

One (1) year of experience providing technology, instructional, training, or administrative support; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of equivalent professional experience in learning program development, workflow training, and digital technology, including Ai, in lieu of a degree
  • Evidence of certification in the following:

Google Project Management and Google Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Essentials

Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) Certified Ai Awareness Training

International Customer Management Institute (ICMI) Coaching

Working/Environmental Conditions

Routine office environment.

Sitting or standing in one location much of the time.

Some stooping, lifting, or carrying light-weight objects may be required.

Use of an audio-video display terminal.
