Description

Digital EngineerInvestigates and conducts studies on specifications and requirements of the project.Performs original RF and Digital circuit design and analysis.Supplies technical assistance and coordination to designers and staff assigned to the project.Provides directions to the Engineering Technician and Associate Engineer while breadboarding, wiring, debugging and testing are being performed.Designs and plans, wiring layouts and schematics.Plans tests to be conducted and arranges the test setup.Checks performance of devices during tests and evaluates the results.Provides technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment and other engineering data.Specifies the procurement of specialized components and test equipment.Assists in the preparation of bids and proposals.Uses PC-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) programs of moderate complexity.QualificationsBachelor's degree Electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years prior experience or master's degree and a minimum of 2 years prior experience.3+ years of RF Microwave and/or Digital Engineering experience in design, development, analysis and investigation of electronic devices and systems required.Must be familiar:Modeling and SimulatingOptimizing new conceptual circuits along with evaluating, testing, tuning, and modifying circuits.Amplifier design using both packaged components and bare dieMicroprocessor programming languages: C, C++Real time operating systems (RTOS)Knowledge of hardware development as it pertains to embedded softwareMicroprocessors from Microchip (PIC)Verilog or VHDL to describe digital circuits for FPGA design.Xilinx FPGA and development toolsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
