Description:
Are you an experienced FPGA engineer looking to work on next-generation communications technology? We're seeking a Digital Design Engineer to help develop advanced FPGA-based solutions supporting cutting-edge optical communications and high-performance networking systems used in mission-critical applications.

This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative engineering team focused on designing, implementing, and integrating complex digital systems from concept through prototype. You'll work alongside experts in FPGA design, systems engineering, hardware, software, and integration on innovative research and development programs.

What You'll Do
As a Digital Design Engineer, you will:
  • Design, develop, and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL
  • Develop digital architectures from system requirements and high-level specifications
  • Perform FPGA simulation, verification, synthesis, timing closure, and hardware integration
  • Support system bring-up, debugging, and optimization
  • Develop and maintain reusable FPGA IP and legacy design environments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex communications systems
  • Troubleshoot digital designs operating within integrated hardware platforms
  • Create and maintain detailed technical design documentation
  • Support high-speed networking and communication system development

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of professional FPGA and digital design experience
  • Strong expertise with:
    • VHDL development
    • FPGA simulation and verification
    • High-speed timing closure
    • FPGA synthesis and implementation
  • Extensive experience with Xilinx FPGA platforms, including UltraScale+
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx Versal devices
  • Advanced proficiency with Xilinx Vivado
  • Experience with ModelSim and/or Questa
  • Strong UNIX/Linux experience, including shell scripting
  • Experience integrating FPGA designs into larger hardware systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DDR4 memory interfaces
  • High-speed networking or communications systems experience
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) implementation
  • Experience designing and debugging complex circuit boards
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, Perl, TCL, SystemC, or SystemVerilog
  • Master's degree in a related engineering discipline
