Akkodis is seeking a Digital Business Analyst for a contract role with a client located in San Diego, CA (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $52/hr. -$57/hr. (Hourly wage may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Location: San Diego, CA 92101

Duration: 6 months to start, potential to extend

Role Overview

The role of Digital Business Analyst will have primary responsibility for leading the requirements gathering process and working as a liaison to understand the business objectives of internal and external customers. This role is responsible for working with the teams in crystallizing the problem definitions and product solutions that provide value through people, process, and technology that enable customers to achieve their goals. The Digital Business Analyst will work closely with product owners, designers, software engineers, scrum masters, and quality assurance teams to understand, analyze, and translate business and design requirements into functional specifications and validated acceptance criteria that support Product Owner authored user stories This role will interface with a variety of end users, stakeholders, and subject matter experts who work together to succeed as one team.

What You'll Do

  • Understand customer and business objectives, challenges, and user workflows to help define valuable product features.

  • Gather, analyze, document, and maintain functional requirements and specifications.

  • Create and maintain functional and UI component specifications to ensure alignment across product, design, engineering, and QA.

  • Develop functional acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, requirements clarification, impact analysis, and acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, Software Engineers, Scrum Masters, QA, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.

  • Ensure teams have a clear and consistent understanding of requirements and expected outcomes.

  • Identify gaps in business analysis practices and recommend process improvements that increase delivery efficiency.

  • Support teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure solutions meet business and customer expectations.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner.

  • 6-9 years of experience in software development, industrial software, systems integration consulting, or similar environments; alternatively, 6+ years working on teams developing new software products.

  • 5+ years of experience documenting requirements and specifications for software applications, websites, and/or mobile experiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of modern web development, content management systems, mobile applications, UX, and responsive design.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments and closely with design teams.

  • Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills with the ability to recommend creative solutions.

  • Experience working with data-intensive user interfaces.

  • Ability to quickly understand complex products, industries, and business processes.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to organize and simplify complex technology concepts.

  • Passion for problem-solving, executing ideas, and delivering tangible solutions.

  • Self-motivated and capable of independently determining the BA deliverables needed to support a project.

  • Experience with continuous process improvement and process optimization.
