Job Summary:
Working under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian, the Dietetic Technician provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and involved others as ordered or delineated. The dietetic technician participates in nutrition screening and the development of care plans with patients who require nutrition interventions. The dietetic technician also monitors, evaluates and documents care in collaboration with the dietitian. The dietetic technician works closely with the healthcare team and supports inpatient, ambulatory areas and system call center as designated.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience is required. A minimum of 1 year of dietetic technician experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Associate degree from a Dietetic Technician program is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Cbord knowledge is preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Current Registered Dietetic Technician is required or must be registry eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. If registry eligible, must become a Registered Dietetic Technician within six months of the date of hire or transfer.
