Transitions Healthcare North Huntingdon is looking for a Dietary Manager to lead our Dietary Services team.
Mealtime is one of the best parts of the day for our residents, and our dietary team plays a big role in making that happen. As Dietary Manager, you’ll run the day-to-day operation of our kitchen and dining services, making sure every resident gets meals that are high quality, meet their nutritional needs, and reflect their preferences and prescribed diets. You’ll lead and support the dietary staff while keeping the department in line with food safety, sanitation, and state and federal regulations.
If you’re an experienced food-service professional who enjoys leading a team and understands how much good dining matters in a skilled nursing setting, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily operations of the Dietary Services department, including meal prep, service, sanitation, and staffing
- Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff and provide day-to-day direction
- Make sure meals, snacks, and therapeutic diets are prepared and served accurately, following menus, diet orders, resident preferences, and regulatory requirements
- Work with nursing and the interdisciplinary team on residents’ dietary needs and any changes
- Keep an eye on food quality, portioning, presentation, temperatures, and meal service timing
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and state and federal regulations
- Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, storage, labeling, and rotation, while helping control food costs and cut down on waste
- Make sure kitchen equipment, refrigerators, freezers, prep areas, and dish areas meet sanitation and safety standards
- Keep dietary records, temperature logs, sanitation documentation, and other required paperwork up to date
- Jump in on meal prep and service when needed to support the team and take care of residents
- Create a positive, resident-centered dining experience and respond to resident preferences and concerns
- Partner with facility leadership on department goals and overall quality of care
What We’re Looking For
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential highly preferred. If you’re not currently certified, you must be willing and eligible to get certified after accepting the position.
- Previous food-service experience required. Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, senior living, or another institutional setting is strongly preferred.
- Supervisory or food-service management experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, therapeutic diets, and high-volume food prep preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred
