Dietary Aide

Dietary Aid Position:  Part Time -must have flexible availability for either Shifts:

1. 12pm-8pm

2. 3pm- 8pm 

Job Summary: Responsible for all input, distribution, and printing involving the Meal Tracker Menu System and serves as a direct liaison between the residents and the dietary department, and assure resident safety.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Input select menus daily
• Print tray tickets, production sheets, and nourishment labels daily
• Print daily select menus for rehab unit and personally distribute to the residents
• Distribute dietary satisfaction surveys to new admissions on day 3 of their stay
• Print weekly select menus for LTC and Memory Care units and take to the units on Tuesday
• Check boxes on units daily
• Input Dietary Communication slips and any changes into computer program
• Assist residents in filling out their menus as needed
• Attend all facility and dietary mandatory inservices
• Assure resident safety at all times.

Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements:

• Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: https://info.flclearinghouse.com)

• Must be able to sit and work at computer for long periods
• Must be willing and able to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily when necessary, for example as Dietary Aide
• Must follow department dress code and wear clean uniform, clean shoes, a hairnet or cap inside kitchen and disposable gloves when handling food.
• Must wear name tag at all times when on John Knox Village property
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
• Must be free from all communicable diseases and in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to sit, stand, lift (up to 50 lbs. ), bend, squat, and move intermittently during working hours
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
