    POSITION:

    T

    The Dietary Aide / Assistant provides support with all dietary functions within the facility as directed and in accordance with the established Dietary policies and procedures.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


    • Follows food safety regulations and guidelines at all times.

    • Serves meals in a timely manner that are appetizing in appearance and within established portion control procedures.

    • Distributes menus, sets up/delivers meal trays and/or snacks, prepares food carts, prepares dining room, and inspects diet trays before serving.

    • Assists cook in preparing meals.

    • Obtains food supplies for next meal.

    • Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    • Carries out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.

    • Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assures that utensil and related items are sanitized and are readily available for next meal.

    • Reports significant observations to appropriate clinical staff including, but not limited to RN/LVN/LPN, Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing Services, and Physicians.

    • Other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS


    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.

    • Must have the ability to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with the other associates .

    • Must maintain regular attendance.

    • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam, i f required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.

    • Must be able to communicate verbally in a positive and professional manner.

    • Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation .
