Description

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join an assisted living dining services team. The Dietary Aide will support daily meal service by assisting with food preparation, meal setup, serving, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and sanitary dining environment for residents.

The ideal candidate is reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable working with senior residents in a respectful and professional manner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation and meal setup.
  • Prepare and set up trays, beverages, utensils, and dining areas.
  • Serve meals and beverages to residents according to established procedures.
  • Follow residents' dietary instructions and meal requirements.
  • Assist with portioning and distributing meals.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and food service equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment.
  • Properly store and label food and supplies.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
  • Monitor food and supply levels and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
  • Provide courteous, respectful, and attentive service to residents.
  • Work cooperatively with kitchen, dietary, and care staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, dietary services, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors is a plus.
  • Food Handler certification preferred, if applicable.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes, meal plans, and dietary instructions.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
