Diesel Truck Mechanic

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system diagnostics; replace and repair major internal engine components, transmission repairs, and rebuilds. We have several openings available for Experienced Diesel Mechanics in the Linden, NJ area to perform repairs on a fleet of semi-trucks, trailers, and buses. Technicians should have 3 - 5 years of experience performing diesel repairs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on heavy-duty vehicles and trailers.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system diagnostics; replace and repair major internal engine components, transmission repairs, and rebuilds.
  

·         Perform DOT annual inspections on medium/heavy-duty vehicles and trailers

·         Use computer diagnostic equipment.

• Conduct inspections and tests to ensure vehicles and equipment are in proper working condition.
  
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  

 

Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic 
  
• Cummins certification is nice to have, but not a requirement. 
  
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
  
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  

 

Compensation:

$68,000 - $79,000 annually

Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday–Friday
