The Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic will diagnoses, adjusts, repairs, maintains, and overhauls trucks, equipment, and diesel-powered systems. The position performs preventive maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, brake and suspension work, engine and drivetrain repair, component replacement and rebuilding, equipment inspections, roadside service, and complete work-order documentation. The Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing work in accordance with applicable DOT requirements and company safety, quality, environmental, and maintenance procedures

- Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Engine Repair and Diagnostics
- Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Emissions
- Light/Medium/Heavy Duty HVAC
- Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Tires
- Light/Medium/Heavy Duty DOT Inspections
- Light/Medium/Heavy PM's (oil changes, services, etc.)
- Fabrication and Welding
- Road Calls
- Pump and Power Take Off Repairs
- Hazmat Tank Repairs
- Overhaul Engines (Experience Based) Cummins/Cat/International Etc.
- Test Drive Equipment/Trucks (If technician has CDL and correct endorsement)
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of diesel mechanic experience preferred, but not required.
- Working knowledge of heavy-duty truck and diesel-engine systems, including brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrain, fuel systems, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using inspection techniques, test instruments, diagnostic software or equipment, gauges, and sound mechanical judgment.
