Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join a growing maintenance team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, equipment, and heavy-duty systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in diesel engine repair, excellent troubleshooting skills, and is committed to delivering quality workmanship while maintaining a safe work environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience required
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and heavy-duty systems
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Safety-focused with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components
Perform routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and fluid services
Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment
Inspect vehicles and equipment for wear, damage, and required repairs
Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance and service records
Ensure all repairs comply with company safety standards and applicable regulations
Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field service repairs when required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Perform additional maintenance and repair duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on heavy-duty trucks or industrial equipment
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Previous field service experience
Technical training or diesel mechanic certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working underneath vehicles and equipment
Ability to safely operate diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment with exposure to grease, oils, noise, and heavy machinery
Work Environment
