    Description

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Promote safety in every task and action.
    • Prepare repair orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Work independently and safely within the shop and when making road calls.
    • Complete necessary records promptly, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations.
    • Stay up-to-date with and adhere to all DOT regulations, as well as federal, state, local, and company standards regarding:
    • Personal safety during maintenance operations on tractors and trailers
    • Maintaining a clean and safe shop environment
    • Proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
    • Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.


    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or CSC Manager.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Willingness to obtain ASE Brake certification within the first 180 days of employment.
    • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Self-motivated and detail-oriented work ethic.
    • Must meet qualifications outlined in Section 396.19 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for vehicle inspections.
    • Must meet qualifications in Section 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for brake maintenance and repairs.
    • Ability to safely operate a tractor/trailer unit within the terminal.
    • Technical expertise to handle components such as air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, springs, and other heavy parts (over 100 lbs).
    • Ability to inspect, repair, or replace domes, valves, vents, or other equipment in compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
    • Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and adherence to schedules.
    • Basic mechanical skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, and federal, state, local, and company standards.
    • Familiarity with basic company employment policies and procedures.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floors.
    • Frequent reaching above shoulder level, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, and using finger dexterity.
    • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally.
    • Must be capable of performing repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual tasks.


    Working Conditions:

    • Typical shop environment with concrete floors.
    • Work may involve uneven and/or slippery surfaces.


    Job Type: Full-time


    Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
