Diesel Mechanic

Job Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including trucks, buses, and other diesel-powered equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and software.
• Inspect engine components, including exhaust systems, brakes, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Replace or repair faulty components, such as fuel injectors, turbochargers, and pistons.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Test engines to ensure proper operation after repairs or maintenance.
• Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding repair needs and progress.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in diesel mechanics is preferred.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and related tools and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
• Must have own tools.
