Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working with heavy-duty engines and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines using diagnostic tools
Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and fuel systems
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections
Repair or replace defective parts (e.g., injectors, pistons, turbochargers)
Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
Keep work area clean and organized
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role
Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools
Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various conditions
Good problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification (e.g., ASE Diesel Certification)
Experience with heavy equipment or commercial trucks
Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems
Work Environment:
Repair shop or outdoor work sites
Exposure to noise, grease, and varying weather conditions
May require standing, lifting, and bending for long periods
