Diesel Mechanic
Reports to: Garage Manager
Location: OH Fleet Maintenance Facility - Dover, OH
Hours: Wednesday - Saturday - 6:00am - 4:30pm
Pay: Hourly / Saturday Pay: Hourly Premium
Summary
The Ohio Fleet Maintenance team is looking to add to its team. ProVia's private fleet of trucks and trailers continues to grow, and the need for qualified technicians is growing as well. This candidate will need to be experienced in the repair and maintenance of semi tractors and dry van trailers. The candidate must also uphold and represent ProVia's Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Repair, service, and maintain diesel tractors and dry van trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and software platforms.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and accurately identify the root cause of mechanical and system failures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and preventative maintenance performed.
- Contribute to a proactive culture by identifying potential issues and recommending repairs before equipment failures occur.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on commercial trucks and/or trailers.
- Demonstrated experience with diagnostic troubleshooting, including the use of diagnostic software.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call phone rotation to assist drivers and perform repairs outside of regular business hours.
- ASE or other relevant certifications are preferred, but not required.

- Ability to stand, for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
