Position Summary


CAM Fleet Care is seeking an experienced Mobile Fleet Mechanic to perform on-site

diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty

commercial vehicles and construction equipment. This position requires an organized, safety focused self-motivated

technician who can work independently in the field while delivering safe,

efficient, and high-quality service to customers at their locations.


The ideal candidate has strong experience with diesel engines and or gas engines, electronic diagnostics, ECM

programming and updates, and heavy equipment maintenance. This role requires using

your phone and electrical communication to a cloud all photo documented inspections,

receipts to cloud database, excellent troubleshooting skills, professionalism, and a

commitment to minimizing customer downtime.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on light-, medium-, and

heavy-duty fleet vehicles and equipment.

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drivetrains,

hydraulic systems, steering, suspension, brake systems, cooling systems, and

electrical systems.

• Perform advanced electronic diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic

software.

• Complete ECM programming, calibrations, software updates, and parameter

changes on commercial vehicles and equipment.

• Diagnose and repair engine performance, emissions, aftertreatment, and electrical

faults.

• Service and repair commercial trucks, trailers, vocational equipment, and

construction equipment in the field.

• Inspect equipment and perform DOT inspections to ensure compliance with

federal, state, and company safety standards.

• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

• Operate a fully equipped mobile service truck while maintaining inventory, tools,

and equipment.

• Complete detailed service reports, repair documentation, and work orders using

electronic service management systems.

• Communicate repair findings and recommendations with customers and service

management.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and road service calls as required.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe mobile work environment.

• Follow all OSHA, DOT, environmental, and company safety policies.


Preferred Experience - Qualified candidates should have experience with:

• Diesel engine diagnostics and repair or Light Medium Engine Diagnostics Repair or

ideally both.

• ECM programming, software updates, calibrations, and troubleshooting.

• Electronic diagnostic systems and OEM service software.

• Light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial fleet maintenance.

• DOT Inspection Experience

• Preventative maintenance programs.

• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Aftertreatment and emissions systems (DPF, DEF, SCR, EGR).

• Construction and heavy equipment maintenance, including Caterpillar and John

Deere equipment.

• Welding and light fabrication (preferred).

• Mobile service or field mechanic experience (preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy equipment

mechanic.

• Experience servicing commercial fleet vehicles and construction equipment.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or ability to obtain.

• ASE certifications are preferred or willing to complete at least 1-2 within 3 months.

• OEM certifications or training are a plus.

• Basic computer skills for electronic work orders and diagnostic software.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic equipment

safely.

• Ability to travel throughout the service area and respond to emergency service

requests.
