Job Title: Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic Reports To: Flanders, NJ Department: Fleet Construction Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 7:00 AM– 3:30 PM OT available Pay Rate: $35-$50 DOE. Skoda Contracting is looking to hire a Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Flanders, NJ Location. His/her responsibilities include but are not limited to performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a fleet of 500 vehicles and pieces of construction equipment. This is a long-term position and an excellent opportunity to have a steady career. Duties/Responsibilities: Maintains the company’s fleet of vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment (backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks), and other motor vehicles Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Benefits: Steady Work.
