Diesel Fleet Maintenance Supervisor — Chickasha, OK 73018
Lead the charge in keeping our diesel vehicles and equipment running at their best. Based at our Chickasha, OK 73018 facility, you’ll guide a skilled shop team, set the pace for quality and safety, and solve complex mechanical challenges daily.
A Day in This Role
Your morning starts with a quick huddle: you assign work, align priorities, and check parts availability. From there, you’ll dive into advanced diagnostics on engines and transmissions, lend a hand on a tricky repair, review work orders for accuracy, and coach a junior tech through a new procedure. You keep safety front and center, track maintenance records, and collaborate with management to fine-tune workflow. Before the day ends, you’ll verify completed inspections, place parts orders, and plan tomorrow’s schedule.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct daily shop operations and supervise diesel mechanics to meet quality and timeline targets.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and related systems using advanced troubleshooting methods.
- Perform and verify routine maintenance and comprehensive inspections across the fleet.
- Uphold safety standards and enforce company policies on every job.
- Document repairs, services, and inspections with precise, up-to-date records.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior technicians to elevate team capability.
- Partner with management to improve shop efficiency, processes, and workflow.
- Manage parts inventory: order, track, and maintain critical supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
- 5+ years in diesel mechanics, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Expertise in diesel engine systems and effective repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong diagnostic judgment, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Clear, confident communicator with proven leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- ASE certification in diesel technology is a plus.
