DIAGNOSTICIAN\n \nJob Posting ID: 147Location(s): UPSHUR COUNTY SSA - COOPEmployment Type: Full TimeJob Type: EXEMPTPosted Date: 03/02/2026Deadline: Until FilledHours per Day: 8:00:00\n \nDiagnostician\n \nReports to: Special Education Director or Designee\n \nQualifications: Minimum - Master's Degree\n \nMinimum 3 years teaching experience (special education preferred)\n \nAs required by certification and licensing process\n \nPrimary Goal: Implement evaluation duties for assigned campus(es) that will result in provision of services in compliance with state and federal guidelines.\n \nFunding Code: IDEA-B\n \nPerformance Effectiveness: Preparation and Planning\n \n1. Obtain data reports in order to maintain schedules for timely completion of reevaluations.\n \n2. Plan evaluation schedule in order to meet required timelines.\n \n3. Coordinate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated evaluation within timelines.\n \n4. Collaborate and coordinate ARD/IEP schedules with campus staff.\n \n5. Manage schedule to inform the director when assistance is needed in meeting timelines.\n \n6. Assist other professionals as time permits.\n \n7. Communicate with building administrators regarding state assessments\n \n8. Maintain organized eligibility folders for students located on assigned campus(es).\n \n9. Maintain required information in eligibility folders on assigned campus(es).\n \n10. Report discrepancies in information from eligibility folders to the special education director or supervisor.\n \n11. Provide documentation of services to director as requested.\n \nPerformance Effectiveness: Knowledge and Techniques\n \n1. Consult and coordinate with teachers when requested to assist in intervention strategies and techniques\n \n2. Utilize various assessment instruments and techniques, as a part of a multi disciplinary team toassist in identifying students with disabilities.\n \n3. Demonstrates high degree of knowledge, understanding and skill with respect to the appraisal process.\n \n4. Write compliant evaluation reports documenting state and federal requirements.\n \n5. Provide training on the campus as requested by the principal or director.\n \n6. Train and assist teachers in doing criterion-referenced testing as needed.\n \n7. High degree of knowledge regarding special education compliance requirements.\n \nPerformance Effectiveness: Staff and Parent Relations\n \n1. Communicate with appropriate school personnel regarding evaluation results and strategies.\n \n2. Communicate with the parent (and student when appropriate) regarding evaluation results and strategies.\n \n3. Constructively interprets school services and guidelines when appropriate.\n \n4. Coordinates and collaborates with school professionals to benefit students.\n \n5. Displays sensitivity to the concerns of staff members and colleagues.\n \n6. Works cooperatively and constructively with other departments, staff, and parents.\n \n7. Provides consultative assistance to teachers upon request (including strategies, assist with IEP goals/objectives, etc.) and provides follow-up as needed.\n \nPerformance Effectiveness: Professional Attitude and Conduct \n \n1.
