DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHER
Job Summary:
Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures according to established protocols and physician direction. Produces diagnostic images of internal body tissues and organs and supports ultrasound department operations.
Education & Experience:
• Diploma/Certificate from an Ultrasound college or school (Required)
Licenses & Certifications:
• ARDMS, CCI-RVS, or ARRT-S/ARRT-VS certification (Required)
• BLS certification (Required)
Key Responsibilities:
• Performs ultrasound procedures and produces quality diagnostic images.
• Documents and presents images, findings, calculations, and measurements to physicians.
• Provides patient care, prepares and positions patients, and monitors vital signs.
• Observes patients for reactions or complications and intervenes as needed.
• Maintains accurate patient records, files, and billing information.
• Maintains confidentiality and protects patient medical images and data.
• Prepares rooms and patients for ultrasound procedures.
• Verifies equipment is operational before daily use.
• Supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
