The MSF Diagnostic Imaging Working Group (DIWG), part of the Diagnostic Network, standardizes and supports the selection, implementation, and quality control of diagnostic imaging tools across MSF projects. It plays a key role in ensuring that imaging services, such as X-ray and ultrasound, are safely and effectively used in patient care, while also offering radiation safety guidance and field support such as trainings. It serves to support all MSF operational centres.

The Medical Physicist advisor is part of the Diagnostic Imaging Working Group (MSF International). S(H)e works hierarchically under the Leader of the MSF intersectional "Diagnostic Network". While in the field s/he is accountable to the Medical Coordinator.
IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The Medical Physicist advisor supports the translation of the DIWG mandate and annual plan objectives into actionable steps to improve access, safety, and quality of medical imaging in MSF settings. The main objective is to enhance the safety and quality of medical imaging in MSF projects using context-specific adapted tools.
This includes:
Support the implementation of the DIWG mandate and annual plan objectives in the field of X-ray equipment, quality of services and radiation safety.
Develop and support the implementation of radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective clinical use of medical imaging in MSF projects.
Participate in the development and pilots of X-ray services assessment tools, quality assurance and quality control processes for X-ray equipment.
Participate in the development and pilots of X-ray services mapping tools in line with the diagnostic packages.
Participate in the development of associated training strategy and resources.
V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and pilot a quality control strategy to monitor and improve X-ray service quality and ensure consistent high standards for X-ray services, e.g. using X-ray dosimeters and phantoms.
Develop and pilot a guideline and protocol for X-ray staff personal dosimetry.
Provide expert advice for current and new X-ray facilities in the field of radiation safety and quality control.
Develop resources, e.g. policies, guidelines, protocols, briefing documents on specific areas of expertise: X-ray equipment, QC, radiation safety, room design. Contribute to the development and implementation of the learning strategy to address X-ray education and training needs focussed on biomedical engineers, but if feasible also extending to radiographers, MAMs, MedCos, and others (training programs, educational materials, and delivering both remote and potentially on-site training). Main topics are X-ray imaging techniques and equipment, as well as radiation safety.
Support the design and pilot of effective monitoring and evaluation tools for X-rays services (systematic collection of data, enhanced project monitoring, quality improvement…). This includes tools for monitoring patient radiation dose, mapping access to X-ray services, assessing the quality of X-ray services and to identify strengths and weaknesses.

II. CONTEXT
One of the objectives of the pharma network is to assure the quality of medicines in MSF projects. The pharma network is mainly composed of pharmacists working in the medical departments of the operational centers (section pharmacists, pharmacy advisors), pharmacists in European Supply Centres (ESC), pharmacists in the Access Campaign / Access to Products for Healthcare and regional/intersectional pharmacists.
Coordination of this network is done by the International Pharmacist Coordinator (IPC) who has a permanent position within the International Office.
Main activities of the International Pharmaceutical Coordination team (from an International QA perspective) are:
To maintain the coherence of the MSF pharma network, where the Drugs QA Leader focuses on the quality related ESC groups composed not only of pharmacists, but also ESC buyers.
To coordinate the implementation of the MSF Qualification Scheme for international procurement and all related activities with the support of external experts, when needed. This is a key responsibility of the Drugs QA Leader.
To facilitate and ensure that common specifications and procedures are implemented and used in all sections and ESCs - the Drugs QA Leader focuses on the coordination within the ESCs.
To participate to external networks/meetings with other key international actors (UNICEF, WHO, ICRC…) sharing the objectives to improve quality of medicines on the international market. The Drugs QA Leader builds and maintains external collaborations linked to quality related topics.
III. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Lead the MSF Drug Quality Assurance activities in order to identify new quality sources of drug supply, consolidate the MSF drug QA system to ensure quality, safe and efficacious medicines are used by MSF patients and achieve a coordinated approach towards quality medicines within the ESCs to increase synergies and gains efficiency, as well as monitor international regulatory developments and dynamics that may have an impact on MSF.
IV. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develops clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies in terms of identifying, selecting and adding to MSF database repository:
Coordinates and leads the ESCs (QAs and buyers) in all pharmaceutical aspects linked to the search of sources, selection and use of essential medicines identified as priority.
Coordinates with SPINCO and working groups for any inclusion or changes to MSF catalogues and coordinates the QA/supply check related to new medicines requests.
Identifies strategic opportunities and risks to manage and continue to develop the MSF Quality Management System (QMS):
Responsible for the creation and revision of the MSF Quality Management System for medicines.
Ensures proper updating and storage and communicates changes to the relevant pharmacists (IMES, IPC, pharma network).
Organizes the section pharmacists' annual product dossier audit on the implementation of MSF Qualification Scheme carried out together with the ESCs.
Following audits of MSF QA system, is responsible for CAPA (corrective and preventive actions) and implementation of the recommendations linked to his/her scope of competences.
Writes the annual report of the QA activities (products approved/not approved/exceptionally approved/products monitored and variations assessed, etc.)
Acts as QA lead for drugs as delegated by the OCs:
Coordinates product qualification activities within the IPC team: IMES meetings and follow-up of the action points, assigns and monitors dossier assessment progress, final review.
Ensures approval of product dossiers (including variations & monitoring) and Declaration of Equivalence (DoE).
Maintains quality reviews in UniQuality for the following approval routes: MSF qualification, WHO PQ and DOEs (to SRAs, to WHO PQ and to PSS).
Manages external experts for the assessment of therapeutic equivalence.
Performs risk assessments together with the IPC to facilitate decision-making of DirMed platform.
Prepares documentation for DirMeds decision on exceptional validations, route M, of dossiers.
Performs the annual risk analysis for prioritization of audits, TVs and MVs planning and supports the IPC in the elaboration of the plan.
Participates to manufacturing site audits and performs technical/monitoring visits as per plan. Additional ad hoc support may be provided in other specific TVs for specific country contexts.
Briefs and coachs newcomers (section pharmacists, intersectional, AC/APH or ESC pharmacists) on MSF QMS, Qualification Scheme and product dossier assessments.
Provides technical guidance and support to the ESCs pharmacists on QA and procurement.
Key focal point for Working groups (including malaria WG), to ensure they have regular and efficient support:
Is the MSF focal point for antimalarial medicines internally (SPs, ESCs, AC) and externally (manufacturers, ext. actors).
Participates in the work of the malaria contact group, including: update on latest developments in treatments, international recommendations and initiatives; availability and potential procurement problems.
Updates technical information in UniQuality anti-malaria medicines reviews.
Revises regularly with the working groups (malaria contact group or others) the list of priority medicines, for which quality sources need to be identified for MSF.
Acts as focal point with working groups with no dedicated pharmacist in any pharma related issue.
Plays a strategic role in the broader move in topics linked to supply, procurement, etc. :
Contributes to the definition and implementation of the strategy and plan of action of the Pharma Network.
Contributes to the Supply Transformational topics strategy, particularly but not only, to the GPU specific priorities and to the regional hubs set-up and development.
Guides ESCs to achieve a coordinated approach to access to quality medicines.
Guides technical developments of the UniQuality tool.
Liaise with WatSans to ensure updated information on waste management is available for all medicines, by providing technical input on the nature of each molecule.
Supports the IPC on specific requests or dossiers.

The work of MSF Access is rooted in MSF's medical humanitarian work and aims to improve access to medicines and healthcare products for people in the greatest need by bringing down barriers that keep people from getting the treatment they need to stay alive and healthy.
To do this, we advocate for the most effective medicines and health products to be available, affordable, and equitably accessible for the people we care for, and beyond.
The MSF Access team has the following responsibilities:
Gather input for MSF's Common Priorities on access to products of healthcare (Access).
Design and implement Access Analysis & Advocacy activities to respond to the agreed Common Priorities.
Provide, facilitate, support on Access files outside the Common Priorities to MSF entities that request it.
Maintain an overview of Access initiatives across MSF and report on them annually.
Research, and stay informed of, the Access landscape globally and regionally to inform the MSF Movement of opportunities and threats.
The seven Common Priorities currently agreed upon by the MSF Movement include: i. Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), ii. Vaccinations, iii. Tuberculosis, iv. Diabetes, v. Diagnostic Tools, vi. Sexual Reproductive Health and vii. Cancer. They are based on the Medical-Operational priorities witnessed by the Movement and are subject to possible changes on medium-term.
I. The position
Under the supervision of the Digital Communications Advisor and in collaboration with Strategic Communications Advisors, the Digital Communications Officer will work to create and deliver engaging digital communications and campaigning materials to support MSF Access advocacy objectives, translating highly technical content into compelling digital assets, including social media plans, infographics and short videos.
II. Place in the organisation
The Digital Communications Officer is part of the advocacy and communication department. S/he works with a team composed of advocacy, communication, digital and technical experts, and works closely with the regional hubs of the Access team.
III. Main activities
Multimedia and written content creation: propose and create infographics, visuals, videos, animations, social media posts, web articles and other innovative digital content to boost online presence and engagement.
Social media management: implement and manage online platforms and/or third party tools to assure contents are published in time and following the best practices.
Online community engagement: identify relevant online communities, develop and implement engagement strategies with the aim of mobilising additional support for MSF Access communications, monitor comments and answer/react as needed in consultation with the team.
Online monitoring: monitor social media for issues related to Access communications and propose ways to respond as opportune and/or necessary.
Email marketing: Collaborate with the Digital Advisor in the creation and dissemination of the monthly newsletter, and with the digital consultant to setup the email campaign.
Growing audiences: collaborate in developing and implementing digital and outreach/marketing strategies to grow target audiences.
Analytics and metrics: in coordination with the Digital Comms Advisor and the Digital Consultant, contribute to the development of impact reports and insights for continuous data-driven improvement.
Internal dissemination: Help prepare and disseminate communication packages to the MSF communications network through relevant internal platforms, including compiling and sharing relevant materials
Internal engagement: support engagement with relevant communication officers in MSF country offices to facilitate the uptake of digital packages.

The MSF Diagnostic Imaging Working Group (DIWG), part of the Diagnostic Network, standardizes and supports the selection, implementation, and quality control of diagnostic imaging tools across MSF projects. It plays a key role in ensuring that imaging services, such as X-ray and ultrasound, are safely and effectively used in patient care, while also offering radiation safety guidance and field support such as trainings. It serves to support all MSF operational centres.
A central focus for MSF is the quality and safety of X-ray services, which are essential for delivering high-quality care in all hospitals. The DIWG plays a key role by conducting quality control of X-ray images, offering advice on radiation safety, and supporting projects to ensure X-ray systems are used safely and appropriately for patient care.
The DIWG has developed a number of norms, guidance, and documentation to improve the safety, quality, and proper use of X-ray services in MSF, including radiation safety measures. However, significant work remains to enhance safety and quality in medical imaging across MSF projects. This includes mapping access to X-ray services, developing quality control strategies, decision-making tools to better support operations, , detailed learning strategies, and training materials.
III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION
The Medical Physicist advisor is part of the Diagnostic Imaging Working Group (MSF International). S(H)e works hierarchically under the Leader of the MSF intersectional "Diagnostic Network". While in the field s/he is accountable to the Medical Coordinator.
IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The Medical Physicist advisor supports the translation of the DIWG mandate and annual plan objectives into actionable steps to improve access, safety, and quality of medical imaging in MSF settings. The main objective is to enhance the safety and quality of medical imaging in MSF projects using context-specific adapted tools.
This includes:
Support the implementation of the DIWG mandate and annual plan objectives in the field of X-ray equipment, quality of services and radiation safety.
Develop and support the implementation of radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective clinical use of medical imaging in MSF projects.
Participate in the development and pilots of X-ray services assessment tools, quality assurance and quality control processes for X-ray equipment.
Participate in the development and pilots of X-ray services mapping tools in line with the diagnostic packages.
Participate in the development of associated training strategy and resources.
V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and pilot a quality control strategy to monitor and improve X-ray service quality and ensure consistent high standards for X-ray services, e.g. using X-ray dosimeters and phantoms.
Develop and pilot a guideline and protocol for X-ray staff personal dosimetry.
Provide expert advice for current and new X-ray facilities in the field of radiation safety and quality control.
Develop resources, e.g. policies, guidelines, protocols, briefing documents on specific areas of expertise: X-ray equipment, QC, radiation safety, room design. Contribute to the development and implementation of the learning strategy to address X-ray education and training needs focussed on biomedical engineers, but if feasible also extending to radiographers, MAMs, MedCos, and others (training programs, educational materials, and delivering both remote and potentially on-site training). Main topics are X-ray imaging techniques and equipment, as well as radiation safety.
Support the design and pilot of effective monitoring and evaluation tools for X-rays services (systematic collection of data, enhanced project monitoring, quality improvement…). This includes tools for monitoring patient radiation dose, mapping access to X-ray services, assessing the quality of X-ray services and to identify strengths and weaknesses.

The Climate, Environment and Health (CEH) Intersectional Advocacy and Positioning Group (IAPG) plays a key role in aligning MSF's internal analysis, positioning, and advocacy across the movement, while the Climate & Environment Programme of Engagement (PoE) structures movement-wide engagement on complex and political C&E dossiers.
II. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The CEH Engagement, Advocacy & Positioning Lead supports the implementation of MSF's Climate & Environment Programme of Engagement by coordinating internal engagement, positioning, advocacy preparation, and communication on climate, environment and health.
Under the responsibility of the IO Climate & Environment Team Lead, the role works with operational directorates, platforms, the International Office, and other relevant MSF stakeholders to support coherent, field-informed CEH positioning and engagement in strategic advocacy opportunities.
The role translates complex CEH issues into structured engagement processes and clear communication outputs that support alignment, informed debate, and decision-making across MSF.
III. ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accountable for ensuring the effective coordination, functioning, and follow-up of the CEH Intersectional Advocacy & Positioning Group.
Plan, convene, and facilitate regular IAPG meetings, including agenda-setting and follow-up.
Ensure clear workplans, priorities, decision-making processes, and tracking of agreed actions.
Maintain information flow between the IAPG, Steering Committee, International Office, and relevant MSF platforms.
Coordinate sub-groups or task teams when needed.
Accountable for supporting inclusive and structured engagement across MSF to build alignment on CEH and PoE-related dossiers.
Map and engage relevant internal stakeholders across sections, Operational Directorates, platforms, and field structures.

IV. AUTONOMY, COMPLEXITY
The role advises management IO leadership on engagement, positioning and communications strategies and content, translates complex CEH issues into outputs and strategies. The role is able to organize and prioritize deliverables independently.
The role uses subject matter expertise, analysis, independent judgement and translates CHE-concepts into practical outputs and strategies. This role works across both internal and external stakeholders, influencing decisions, building consensus around positioning and advocacy topics and strategies.

The Speaking Out Case Studies document critical humanitarian dilemmas, constraints and controversies surrounding speaking out throughout the history of MSF. The SOCS project assists all MSF members, and a growing external audience in understanding how speaking out articulates with humanitarian interventions.

The SOCS Comms work-study trainee is part of the SOCS team. He/she reports to the SOCS project manager and works closely with the other members of the SOCS team.
IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Communications Work-Study Trainee to strengthen the visibility, engagement, and accessibility of the Speaking Out Case Studies project.
The role requires expertise in digital communications, content development, and campaign implementation, combined with a genuine and strong interest in humanitarian affairs, international relations, and global health issues.
The Communications Work-Study Trainee will be able to translate complex content into compelling digital narratives, support audience engagement strategies, and develop campaigns that increase reach among humanitarian practitioners (within and outside MSF), academics, students, and other humanitarian stakeholders.
