The Department of Ambulatory Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital consists of the multidisciplinary staff of BJH Ambulatory Services including responsibility for the GI Labs, Minor Procedure Center, Pain Management Center, Diabetes Center, Resident Clinics, Wound/Ostomy Center and other services as assigned. This department assures that all customers receive the highest level of attention and prompt, courteous service.

Role Purpose

Provides Diabetes and Nutritional educational services and community resources for inpatients and outpatients. Maintains a case load of patients and promotes program development.

Responsibilities

Monitors patients response and modifies plan of care accordingly.Provides accurate documentation as required.Delivers direct patient care by assessing and evaluating patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.Develops and implements individual plans of care in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.Educates patients and their families on how to manage their condition.
