    LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES, DAVIDSON COUNTY

    This is an on-site position.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to four years of document scanning, distribution, mail processing or printing production work. operating or monitoring respective equipment, bindery, or hand production work including at least two years of production supervisory or managerial work.

    Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional qualifying coursework at an accredited college, university, technical institute, business, vocational or trade school in graphic arts, business, or related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years, there being no substitution for the required supervisory experience.

    Necessary Special Qualifications: Certain positions in this class may be required to meet the following requirements:

    • Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
    • Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointing authority.
    • Supply a fingerprint sample in a manner prescribed by the TBI for a fingerprint based criminal history records check.
    • A valid motor vehicle operator license.

    Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions.

    Overview

    Under general supervision, performs managerial work of considerable difficulty; and performs related work as required.

    Distinguishing Features: An employee in this class manages Document Solutions' operations. This class differs from that of a production supervisor in that an incumbent of the latter functions as a first level supervisor.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees the operations for assigned area: monitors quality of completed products; conducts production or project meetings and follow ups on all critical jobs or work; evaluates workflow processes and implements changes to improve quality and turnaround time; utilize workflow software to schedule and track jobs throughout the process; coordinates workload with internal and external business partners.
    • Consults and informs clients about services provided; surveys clients regarding needs, complaints, and suggestions; communicates and resolves any delays or complications with client's order; investigates complaints from clients.
    • Compiles monthly production or project reports and presents information to keep upper management abreast of daily operations and to identify any issues or problems that need addressed.
    • Assist upper management and procurement personnel in the preparation of specifications and contracts for equipment and services.
    • Researches market trends and the availability of new equipment and software to stay up-to-date with the latest technology.
    • Develops job performance plans, documents performance; provides performance feedback and developmental guidance for assigned subordinates; and ensures all State, department, and division policies and procedures are followed.
