    What We’re Looking For:  DevOps engineers are passionate about mission critical systems deployment, management, and monitoring. Our product line covers many diverse areas such as distributed service-oriented architectures, low-latency telecommunications processing, and high availability. Each of these areas in a mission critical environment contains their own unique and difficult problems to solve. As such, a strong technical foundation coupled with the desire to learn, grow, and solve hard problems would make for a strong addition to our team.
    Candidates will work within a system engineering team to collaboratively support a major customer program. The team will collectively be responsible for overseeing integration and deployment of network management software; interfacing with 3rd party data collection stream(s); establishing workflows to automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring of hardware/software systems; configuration, remote management, and troubleshooting of test/lab equipment, including root cause analysis; working with software and hardware development teams for requirements, integration, testing activities.
    Candidates are strong DevOps engineers with over 5 years of experience who can bring innovation to our system deployments. You will help us enhance our capabilities in software continuous integration, automated deployments, log collection and analysis, and hardware and software monitoring. You’re able to learn, select, and integrate new technologies independently. You enjoy and are looking to move into technical leadership by mentoring and guiding junior engineers.  Candidates with skills/experience in any of the above areas are encouraged to apply.
    Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties:
    • Designs, develops, and implements automated software deployments, network configurations, and telecom integrations for networking, computing, and our propriety communications equipment.
    • Implements hardware and software monitoring, reporting, and upgrade paths.
    • Establishes a management system design including conceptual, functional, and physical designs of complex mission critical systems implemented in high availability architectures.
    • Provides systems engineering for software and hardware systems, subsystems, modules, and application tools.
    • Monitors system performance and implements security measures, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system improvements.
    • Creates and reviews technical documentation (e.g., design drawings, design reviews, system layouts, system configuration, deployment procedures/workflows) for internal and external customers.
    • Takes ownership of Engineering related deliverables and their technical compliance required by the program.
    • Interfaces with other company departments for total project success (e.g., program management, hardware & software development, test engineering, field engineering, system engineering, production).
    • May participates in on-site customer deployments, system integration, and customer testing activities.


    Experience in the following technologies:
    • Proficient in RHEL operating system
    • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python)
    • Proficient in automated deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet)
    • Log aggregation and reporting (ELK/Opensearch, Splunk)
    • Network analysis tools (Wireshark)
    • Containers (Docker)
    • System monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP)
    • Virtualization (ESXi, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization)
    • Data replication and storage (DBRD, NAS/SAN)
    • SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
    • System security management and intrusion detection tools (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE)
    • Telecommunications protocols (SIP/RTP, ED-137)
    • Experience in routing and networking technologies (knowledge of Cisco iOS a plus)

    Qualifications:
    • BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience with IT systems and engineering
    • 5-9 years’ experience as a DevOps Engineer implementing automated deployments of integrated hardware and software solutions in the area of networking and communications.
    • Demonstrates the ability to implement and apply best-practice system engineering concepts and appropriate risk management to solutions.
    • Able to learn, select, and integrate new technologies into system solutions.
    • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
