Device Operations Lead

Location: Onsite Newton NC

Reports To: Assistant Production Manager - Device

Employment Status: Full Time

Travel: None

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift - Rotating biweekly schedule (Monday-Thursday/Monday-Wednesday) from 6:00 PM-6:00 AM

Pay: $27.50/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential

Position Overview

The Device Operations Lead supports device operations through a combination of technical leadership and hands-on production responsibilities to ensure quality products that are essential to Gusmer's reputation as the “Go To Provider”. Serves as a day-to-day resource for team members while partnering with management to communicate performance feedback, development opportunities, attendance concerns, policy issues, and operational challenges. This is a hands-on lead role without direct supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the shift lead by coordinating workflow, supporting daily operations, and communicating production, quality, staffing, and equipment concerns to management.

• Train, coach, and mentor employees in molding, assembly, equipment operation, quality standards, GMP, ISO requirements, and safe work practices.

• Support employee onboarding, cross-training, and skill development to build a flexible and high-performing workforce.

• Set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot injection molding equipment, welders, testers, printers, and related production machinery.

• Perform production activities including molding, assembly, inspection, packaging, and material handling while meeting quality and production expectations.

• Monitor production performance, identify operational issues, and help maintain workflow continuity to achieve production and shipment goals.

• Ensure compliance with safety policies, PPE requirements, GMP standards, ISO requirements, and company quality procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

• Accurately complete production documentation, quality records, and electronic system entries, while supporting audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 1 years' production experience in molding operations or device assembly.

Work Environment

This position typically functions in a manufacturing and warehouse setting with exposure to machinery, moving parts, and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to varying temperatures depending on the season and location within the facility.
