The Development Officer -Major Gifts is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors capable of making significant philanthropic gifts in support of public radio's mission and programming. This role manages a portfolio of current and prospective major donors, building meaningful relationships that encourage giving for annual support, special projects, capital needs, and planned gifts.

Essential Functions

50% - Donor Relationship Management: Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of current and prospective major donors through personal visits, calls, written communication, and ongoing engagement.

20% - Fundraising Strategy & Solicitation: Develops individualized giving strategies, prepares proposals, coordinates asks, and secures major gifts in support of operations, programming, special campaigns, and planned giving opportunities.

10% - Prospect Research & Pipeline Development: Researches and qualifies new donor prospects, expands the major gifts pipeline, and analyzes giving trends to maximize fundraising opportunities.

10% - Collaboration & Leadership Support: Partners with, development staff, and volunteers to coordinate donor outreach, events, and strategic fundraising efforts.

10% - Administration & Reporting: Maintains accurate donor records, tracks activity in CRM systems, prepares reports, monitors progress toward revenue goals, and ensures timely stewardship follow up.
