Role Summary
Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions and creator of the industry's most advanced unmanned command and control solution for vehicle operations, is seeking a Development Manager for their R&D team. The Development Manager – R&D leads a team of engineers responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting software systems for advanced autonomous and robotic solutions. This role combines hands-on technical contribution with team leadership, ensuring high-quality development practices, on-time delivery, and alignment with organizational goals and budgets.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute hands-on by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Lead and mentor software engineers, promoting best practices and professional growth.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate daily engineering activities to meet project milestones and budget objectives.
  • Define functional requirements and review technical solutions to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage team members, fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (product, QA, operations) to deliver reliable, scalable systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally within robotics, vehicle automation, or similar domains.
  • Prior experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Strong programming skills in C#, with experience in Java, C, C++, .NET, and Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
