Position Summary The Development Data Clerk will have regular interaction with the Caritas of Austin Development and Finance departments. This position must be able to accurately complete assignments within a given timeline, problem solve and work well under pressure. This position is fully remote and part time with no more than 25 hours week.
The highly motivated, organized, and passionate individual who holds this position will assist with data entry and tracking donations, stewardship, and donor relations to support Caritas of Austin’s work and mission. This part-time position requires technological proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to stay on task. The ideal candidate should enjoy working independently, remotely and be able to accomplish weekly, quarterly, and yearly needs efficiently and correctly.
The ideal candidate is also someone who is interested in expanding their professional fundraising career, has a passion to share the Caritas of Austin voice, loves data, and analytical work, and enjoys behind-the-scenes work in support of a great mission. The ideal candidate also wants to understand how to utilize data to enhance the growth of the organization through strategy. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (inclusive but not exhaustive): Data Entry - Managed by the Development Manager the Development Data Clerk is responsible for entering checks, ACH gifts, and online donations into the Development Team’s donor database Raiser’s Edge NXT – an essential function in supporting fundraising, constituent communications, stewardship, and cultivation.
- Support processing pledges, payments, recurring gifts, and stock gifts. Provides administrative support as needed for the Development Team’s additional CRM systems – including, but not limited to ImportOmatic and GrantHub.
- Enters 100% of gifts received no later than the first of each month. Reports out to the Development Manager regarding progress and metrics.
- Supports in maintaining accurate constituent records including updating donor information and identifying duplicate constituent records.
- Assist in maintaining SOP’s for database systems.
- Assists in updating email marketing lists and run reports for segmentation to support Communications team.
Data Reporting - Assist in data reporting as needed including, but not limited to: Providing monthly and/or quarterly updates to the Development Team regarding fundraising and donor trends tracked by legitimate sources such as the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
- Provide reports on gifts to finance department for reconciliation of deposits.
Donor Relations - Generate weekly thoughtful, engaging acknowledgement letters to appropriately steward donors.
- Support the Data Analyst in implementing the stewardship plan to cultivate and retain donors.
General Development Support - Pull pledge lists and create invoices as needed.
- Support the Development team on all other fundraising and communication projects as needed.
- Respond to in-kind donation inquiries
- Treats staff, clients, customers, visitors and the general public with courtesy and respect.
Qualifications: Education - Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Associate degree (or a comparable background of training and experience).
Experience - Preferred: One year working knowledge of database management
- Preferred: Six months working knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices. Experience working on special events and fundraising campaigns a plus.
- Raisers Edge Certified preferred
- Technical expertise in database queries and reporting, including financial reports related to donors and mailing lists for annual appeals, ensuring data is accurate preferred, but not a requirement – training will be provided.

Work Environment - Must have a quiet, private workspace that supports focused work and protects confidential information.
- Must have reliable internet access with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing and secure remote access to company systems.

Salary/Benefits: - Base Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.28 per hour, with final offer based on education and experience
