    Description

Are you passionate about uncovering customer insights that shape business strategy? We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our market research team at Amazon. In this role, you will design and execute research projects that answer critical business questions, turning complex data into clear recommendations that drive meaningful impact. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to scope research initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and deliver actionable insights that inform product roadmaps and brand strategy. If you thrive on solving challenging problems through a combination of analytical rigor and creative research design, this is your opportunity to make a real difference.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Design and execute complex market research projects using a range of methodologies - from surveys and focus groups to in-depth interviews - translating findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
    • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize research processes and best practices, contributing to the team"s ongoing operational excellence.
    • Manage end-to-end vendor relationships including scoping projects, creating Statements of Work and Purchase Orders, writing Requests for Proposals, and serving as the day-to-day vendor contact to ensure smooth project delivery.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to scope research needs, prioritize initiatives, and communicate insights that inform product goals, customer segmentation, and brand strategy.
    • Leverage data analytics and generative AI tools where appropriate to enhance research quality, optimize digital marketing strategies, and augment productivity across projects.

    A day in the life

You might start your morning reviewing incoming research data, identifying patterns that will shape a presentation for stakeholders later that afternoon. By mid-morning, you are on a call with an external research vendor, aligning on methodology and timelines for an upcoming study. After lunch, you draft a research summary with initial business recommendations, then collaborate with senior colleagues to refine the narrative before sharing it broadly. Throughout, you balance multiple projects at different stages, keeping documentation current and stakeholders informed.

    About the team

Our team is dedicated to generating the customer and market insights that guide how Amazon builds for the future. We combine rigorous research methodologies with a collaborative, inclusive culture where every voice contributes to better outcomes. In the years ahead, we are focused on scaling our research capabilities, integrating new tools and approaches, and deepening partnerships across the organization. About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
