Job Title: DevOps Engineer II
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6 Months Contract on W2


Description:
  • DevOps Engineer II is a mid-level infrastructure and automation role responsible for maintaining cloud environments, supporting application deployments, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux and Windows server administration, AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and production support.
  • This role works closely with software developers to automate deployments, manage cloud infrastructure, and resolve application and server-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, administer, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Configure and manage automated application deployments using DevOps tools and AWS services.
  • Support developers by troubleshooting server, infrastructure, and application environment issues.
  • Monitor production systems and proactively address performance, stability, and availability concerns.
  • Investigate production outages, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, S3, and CloudFormation environments.
  • Implement production releases, migrations, and deployment activities, including occasional off-hours support.
  • Support Git repositories, monitoring tools, and development platforms used by engineering teams.
  • Develop automation scripts and processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
  • Ensure infrastructure, applications, and deployment processes remain secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirement:
  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • 3 years of proven experience with Linux Administration, Windows Administration, and IIS Management. Deep understanding of IIS concepts and settings.
  • 3 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, S3, CloudFormation
  • Moderately experienced in: Bash, Powershell, Python, XML, Web concepts such as REST APIs and SPA, HTTP Get and Post
  • Skilled with Development tools and methodologies, such as XML config files, Rest API calls, HTTP Headers and Response Codes
  • Proven experience and understanding with Continuous Integration/Deployment Technologies: Atlassian Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, MSBuild, NUnit, GIT, Maven, Docker.
  • Must have passion for technology and focused on automation.

Principal Responsibilities & Essential Duties
1. CI/CD Pipeline Administration (60%)
Build, administer, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Configure build plans and manage software configurations.
Support developers in resolving build failures.
Ensure successful end-to-end application deployments and automated AWS resource provisioning.
Contribute to cloud environment setup and implementation planning.

2. Production Support & System Stability (30%)
Troubleshoot server, infrastructure, and application issues impacting development and production environments.
Investigate and resolve production outages through root cause analysis.
Monitor production systems and proactively maintain platform stability and performance.
Support developers in resolving environment-related application errors.

3. Production Deployments & On-Call Support (5%)
Execute production migrations and deployments, including off-hours activities when required.
Provide after-hours support for mission-critical applications and infrastructure issues.

4. Developer Tools & Environment Support (5%)
Configure and maintain development tools and environments.
Support Git repository administration, monitoring tools, and other DevOps platforms.
Enable efficient software development through tooling and automation support.
