As a Detention Security Officer Armed in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government correctional environment. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional communication and customer service. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a correctional facility environment.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and report unauthorized access attempts according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate facility personnel and emergency responders when required.
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience, 2+ years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3+ years of security-related experience.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
