Join the Great Lakes Stainless Team!
Do you take pride in doing quality work and seeing a project through from start to finish? Great Lakes Stainless is looking for a Detailer / Packer / Cleaner / Assembler to join our production team and play an important role in getting our custom-fabricated stainless steel cabinets ready for our customers.
This is a hands-on position where your attention to detail really matters. You'll help transform beautifully fabricated stainless steel components into finished products that are properly assembled, carefully detailed, protected, packaged, and ready for delivery.
What You'll Do
As a member of our finishing and production team, you will:
- Assemble custom stainless steel cabinets, doors, panels, hardware, and accessories according to work orders and customer specifications.
- Perform final detailing, cleaning, and quality inspections to make sure finished products look their best.
- Remove weld spatter, dust, debris, fingerprints, adhesive residue, and other imperfections from finished surfaces.
- Make minor fit adjustments and cosmetic touch-ups when needed.
- Deburr parts, sort components, and apply protective film to stainless steel surfaces.
- Carefully package finished cabinets using foam, wrapping, padding, corner guards, and other protective materials.
- Label and stage completed products for shipment or customer pickup.
- Review work orders, job travelers, and packing lists to make sure every component is complete and accurate.
- Help load, unload, and move materials and finished products safely.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and ready for the next job.
- Work closely with fabrication, welding, assembly, and shipping teammates to keep projects moving on schedule.
- Identify and communicate quality concerns before products leave the shop.
- Follow all company safety, PPE, and quality requirements.
- Participate in inventory counts and other production-support activities as needed.

- Is dependable, punctual, and committed to getting the job done right.
What You'll Need to Be Comfortable Doing
This is an active manufacturing position. You should be comfortable with:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Bending, stooping, reaching, and working around large fabricated components.
- Using drills, grinders, fastening equipment, and other hand and power tools.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, lighting, dust, and metal particulate.
- Lifting and maneuvering moderately heavy materials and finished products, up to approximately 50–90 pounds with or without assistance.

Minimum Requirement:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred, but not required:
- Up to 2 years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or related production experience.
