POSITION OVERVIEW
JOB SUMMARY:
The Desktop Support Engineer / Local Service Provider (LSP) serves as the primary technology support resource for the Division of Continuing Education, the Behavior Lab, and the Office of Academic Advocacy and Graduation Success, while providing backup support for Enrollment Affairs, the Military & Veterans Resource Center, TRiO, Kugelman Honors and Persistence and Academic Success Services.
The position delivers end-user support for desktop computing, classroom technology, audiovisual systems, endpoint management, and department-specific applications. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and peripheral issues; coordinating technology deployments and repairs; maintaining technology assets; supporting technology projects; and serving as the primary liaison between supported departments and Information Technology Services (ITS). This position is responsible for supporting UWF Information Technology Services policies, managing the Active Directory and domain administration, generating technology specifications and purchasing quotes for systems and projects, providing reports on assets and departmental needs, and maintaining a current list of assets and their status.
The position also assists with technology planning, purchasing recommendations, user training, documentation, and lifecycle management of departmental technology resources, in addition to serving as the primary DisRep for the Division of Continuing Education.
The LSP must check in with their supervisor on a regular basis, at least weekly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Broad job knowledge typically obtained through professional entry-level certifications/credentials, advanced education or 1 year of work experience providing desktop or technical support in a professional environment.
