Deskside Support Technician - Contract to Hire

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Deskside Support Technician for a contract to hire opportunity with a Major Insurance Company located in Glenmont, NY.

​Compensation:  $30.00 - 33.00 per hour, W2

The Deskside Support Technician is responsible for supporting workplace technology and delivering a reliable end-user experience. This role provides hands-on technical support for hardware, software, printers, phones, and Windows-based devices. The position serves as a key liaison between end users, Infrastructure teams, and vendors to resolve issues and support projects.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the initial IT contact and second-level support resource for end-user issues and service requests
• Troubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware, software, network, telephony, and peripheral issues
• Perform moves, adds, changes, and disposals for workplace hardware and software, including imaging and software installation
• Set up and support endpoint telephony devices, including desk phones, conference room phones, and mobile phones
• Support projects, office moves, hardware refreshes, and software upgrades
• Log, maintain, and update incidents and service requests in ServiceNow
• Configure and install PCs, printers, and related equipment to connect to the corporate network
• Provide application support for Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5+ years of professional IT experience, with at least 1 year in a Deskside Support role
• Experience working in a corporate IT support environment
• Working knowledge of end-user services technologies, including telephony, networking, Active Directory, computers, and printers
• Customer-focused attitude with the ability to support users by phone, remotely, and in person
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and resolve multiple support issues simultaneously
• Ability to travel approximately 10-15% of the time as business needs require

Desired skills:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE, or MCSA
