    Description

    We are seeking a Designer to manage utility service design projects from initiation through completion and billing. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, field personnel, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are accurately designed, scheduled, executed, and invoiced.

    The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in utility infrastructure, construction coordination, and technical project support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage utility service design projects throughout the project lifecycle
    • Review customer requests and project notifications within company systems
    • Communicate directly with customers to gather project requirements and provide updates
    • Complete utility design work using GIS mapping tools and related software
    • Create and maintain work orders within SAP or similar enterprise systems
    • Coordinate project scheduling with work coordinators and field crews
    • Provide support and resolve questions during field execution activities
    • Review completed work and verify project deliverables
    • Calculate billable project costs and generate customer invoices
    • Respond to billing inquiries and customer questions
    • Track and manage multiple projects while maintaining accurate documentation

    Required Qualifications

    • Strong computer skills and proficiency with business software applications
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
    • Proven problem-solving skills
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Utility industry experience
    • Exposure to GIS systems, including Smallworld GIS
    • SAP experience
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software
    • Construction, infrastructure, or project coordination experience
    • Experience supporting utility, engineering, or field operations projects
